It’s common knowledge among music industry producers, recording engineers and record company executives the world over: there is no better way to launch a music industry career in audio recording or music production than to learn directly from a working audio professional in a real recording studio.

The Recording Connection Audio Institute is the only recording school on the globe that utilizes this approach, placing its students into top-shelf recording studios for one-on-one apprenticeships with seasoned industry pros. No other audio school offers this kind of world-class education. It’s highly effective, very affordable, and because you’re learning in the heart of the action, your “insider” connections are virtually automatic!

We’re Your Competitive Edge

There are few industries more competitive than the music business, and that means that in order to make it, you have to have a smarter approach to breaking in than your competition does. While other students are wasting time in traditional recording schools far from where the real action happens, we teach you the arts of recording, engineering and music production in the heart of it all—in a real audio recording studio. This gives you a competitive edge because you’ll have the inside scoop on job openings long before the students in other schools know about them—and you’ll have inside connections with the people doing the hiring, because they will be the ones who trained you!

Recording Connection Audio Institute has received glowing endorsements by some of the biggest names in music, and here’s why: they know the dirty little secret, that “CONVENTIONAL” RECORDING SCHOOLS ARE A SHAM. They charge a lot of money to teach you the same things we can teach you, but then they release you into the world with a useless degree, NO music industry connections and a boatload of debt. The typical recording school programme is little more than a diploma mill—a music industry “middle man,” and a poor one at that. Our unique recording school alternative skips the middle man and puts you right in the heart of the action, where you’ll be connected to the music industry from day one.

There’s a reason why these industry pros endorse us, and if you’re really serious about a career in this business, you should pay attention to what they have to say. Here’s just one example of many:

“When I compare the Recording Connection Audio Engineering School with traditional recording schools, I can’t help be impressed with The Recording Connection. They offer a mentor/apprentice style of education. Students are placed in a professional recording studio like the ones I work with and they work under private tutelage with music producers and audio engineers just like me. So they’re learning from the best and they’re creating connections with music professionals. You just don’t get that at the traditional schools.”

— Tim Palmer (Mixer, Audio Engineer, Music Producer) for Duran Duran, Pearl Jam, The Cure, U2, David Bowie.

How the Recording Connection Audio Institute Works

One-on-One Instruction

The key to our unique educational concept is one-on-one instruction in music production and audio engineering. Once you gain acceptance to our fully accredited school, you will be placed for apprenticeship in a real recording studio in your own town (or another city of your choosing), where you will receive one-on-one private tutoring from your instructor using our structured curriculum. However, unlike traditional recording schools, you won’t waste away in a sterile classroom, and your teacher won’t be teaching a bunch of other students. Instead, your “classroom” will be the recording studio itself, and your teacher (the word we use is “mentor”) will be an actual music producer, audio engineer or studio owner who makes his/her living in this business and who has genuine album credits. The teacher-student ratio is always 1:1 with our programme; you’ll be working with a world-class professional, and you’ll have his/her full attention.

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear, in case you were wondering: you are not “buying” an internship by paying our tuition (low as it is). Interns are those people who go around running errands, fetching coffee for the bigwigs, and who are usually not being paid. As a student in the Recording Connection Audio Institute, you are an apprentice—someone who is receiving one-on-one, hands-on training in audio engineering and music production—and that’s what your tuition is paying for.

What does your apprenticeship look like? You’ll attend class in the recording studio from 2-7 times a week; you will spend lots of time learning HANDS-ON, one-on-one under your mentor, accompanied by loads of reading, studying and homework. The hands-on approach is the heart and soul of apprenticeship; apprentices learn by doing under a master mentor (in your case, a professional audio engineer, music producer or musician). While there is naturally some interning involved with this learning method, the vast majority of your time with Recording Connection will be spent as a student apprentice.

Which sounds more appealing to you? Would you rather learn music production and audio engineering by apprenticing inside a real recording studio, learning from an experienced industry pro; OR would you rather spend up to ten times the money to learn those things from a trade school teacher in a sterile classroom?
Could the best choice be any clearer?

If you think about it, no sensible person would recommend that you learn audio engineering from a teacher in a classroom over learning from a professional in a real recording studio. And yet, thousands of people are still taking on millions in debt by going to traditional audio schools! Why? One word: misinformation. Many people have somehow become erroneously convinced that the traditional audio school pathway can connect them to the music industry. But think about it: have you ever heard of a record company or major recording artist making their record in a recording school? It simply does not happen. That’s why traditional audio schools can’t make that connection for their students—they are far away from where the real action is.

But the Recording Connection can make that connection, because we let you learn in the heart of the action. Apply Here for Free.

Simply put, Recording Connection Audio Institute has spent nearly 30 years forming solid industry relationships with some of the most respected professionals in the music recording business—among them, Tim Palmer, Warren Huart, Ryan Greene, Larry Klein, Bryan Carlstrom, John Travis, Billy Flores, and Steven Baughman. These world-class professionals, along with many others, endorse Recording Connection because they recognise our programme as the most sensible, effective, and cost-efficient way to learn audio engineering anywhere on the globe.

Upon acceptance into our school, you will be placed with one of these top-shelf music professionals for one-on-one mentoring in an actual recording studio, where you will train to become a Music Producer or Audio Engineer. Your mentor will guide you through our structured course curriculum as you go to class in the studio between 2-7 times a week. What’s more, while you learn in this environment, you will also make contact with many other industry professionals, making valuable connections along the way with the very people who do the hiring in this business.

Let’s be absolutely clear: life offers NO guarantees, let alone in a business as competitive as music. If we made that kind of promise, we would lose our credibility completely—and you shouldn’t trust ANYONE who claims to guarantee you a job in the music industry. Our programme can greatly increase your chances of getting hired, but we certainly do NOT guarantee you a job in the music industry. We simply refuse to bait you with bloated promises or false hope.

But don’t throw in the towel just yet—consider this:
The music business is a tough industry to get into—that’s common knowledge. That said, wouldn’t you have the best shot of success by placing yourself in the heart of the action where the music business is concerned?

Of course you would.

If that’s the case, then where would be a better place to learn the music business—in a real recording studio, or some isolated college classroom?
The answer should be staring you in the face. Of course it’s the recording studio.

Here’s the crux of the matter: If you want to be a serious competitor in this business, and if you really mean it when you say you want to have a successful career in music recording and producing, then the most reasonable place to place yourself is inside an actual recording studio, apprenticing with a seasoned working professional. You simply won’t find those connections inside a classroom.

We can’t guarantee your future, but we are absolutely committed to doing all we can to position you for success. Even though you are likely to make plenty of industry connections on your own through our programme, we’ve taken the extra step by creating the Stay Connected Programme, a service designed to help our graduates maximize their education and advance their careers. Take a look!

If you have read this far, you are most likely the kind of person who wants to be the next Dave Rezitas, Timbaland, Tim Palmer, Bob Clearmountain, or Jimmy Iovine—or maybe you want to be like one of those musicians who are known for their ability to self-produce, like Trent Reznor. We not only celebrate that dream with you, but we’re also committed to help you make it a reality; however, please read this next part carefully (and parents, please take note also):

There are some key ingredients to getting on the true path of success in the music biz. You need music industry connections; that’s a given. You also need to avoid getting into debt (it’s very difficult to focus on music if you’re buried in student debt). And most importantly, you need to learn audio recording and music producing from the folks who are actually making a living at it today. When it comes to the music industry, the so-called “traditional” route of college learning is simply counterproductive (let alone expensive) and can ultimately damage your chances for success.

If you think the above is an overstatement, please know that there are plenty of world-class music industry professionals who absolutely agree with what we’re saying here: Read what some of them have to say about our unique method of instruction..

Yes we are! We are fully accredited by the United States Bureau of Accredited Schools (USBAS) and the National Private School Accreditation Alliance (NPSAA). We are also members in good standing with these upstanding music industry organisations.

You will find no bloated promises here; The Recording Connection Audio Institute, your Recording School Alternative, does what it says.
